| Dear Cary Residents,
I hope your summer has been full of sunshine, connection, and joy! Over the past two weeks, so many of you mentioned my newsletter in conversations – and I can’t tell you how much that means to me. Your enthusiasm reminds me why sharing these updates is so important. This month’s edition is a little later than usual. My family has been navigating back-to-back health challenges, and I recently tested positive for COVID. I’m grateful to be on the mend and back to virtual meetings. Even with these challenges, July was packed with meaningful moments—meeting HOA leaders, motivating students, serving on nonprofit boards, and cherishing my favorite role: being a mom to Aanya (16yo Senior in high school), Bella (4yo Berniedoodle) and Lyka (10 yo Golden) Since it is that time of the year when schools will open for new school year and our college students will get dropped off – wishing everyone a great year ahead. If you have high schoolers or college students – please pass my message along to them – have lots of fun in school, study hard and be very careful of your surroundings. With Gratitude, |

| During the summer, Council meetings are held just once a month to give Council and staff a brief break. Now, we’re ready to kick off our busy season ahead, packed with events, community engagement, activities, and yes… plenty of meetings!Town Council Meeting – June & July Fewer items were on the agenda for both the months. One of the projects that we approved was Piney Plains Multi-Family. The project offered max of 370 appartments and upto 16 town homes. The Town Homes will be built by Habitat for Humanity and the units will be available for families to purchase and make their forever house. I am a strong believer that one of the ways to create affordability is to build it through ownership. It also gives families a chance to live their American Dream. This project has some very good amenities like greenway and accessbility to close neighborhood shopping available. Passed with 5 votes. 2 voted against.Town Ha ll with the Cary Town CouncilResidents joined a lively trivia game about Cary’s history, accomplishments, and leaders. Fun, engaging, and educational! Council also shared the vision and plan for Town of Cary. We also touched upon how budget is proposed and then approved. Our Clerk’s office received excellent feedbak on this townhall and I hope that we get to see more of these in future. Cary Matters with Mayor Harold Weinbrecht Council out & about report: Our Clerk’s office has introduced a report to highlight the whereabouts of the Council members. The events captured in the report are the ones where Council gets an official invite through Town Clerk’s office. It will give you view of some of the places that we visited in past one week. Enjoy reading the report. |
